Chicago Restaurant Guide
Chicago is one of the best cities in the United States for excellent food. With thousands of restaurants throughout the city, you won't go hungry and you'll probably find yourself looking forward to a return trip in order to take advantage of the great cuisine. There are a number of factors that have combined to make Chicago a culinary goldmine. Outside of New York City, no one rivals Chicago for ethnic diversity. As a result Chicago has scores of restaurants serving authentic cuisine from nearly every corner of the globe. Add to that the fact that as a major center of business and industry, some of the finest chefs in the world have opened top scale restaurants here, and you will understand why Chicago is known as one of the best restaurant cities anywhere. "Restaurant Row" on Randolph Street is convenient if you really aren't sure what you want to eat, allowing for a spontaneous, last-minute choice. Remember that Chicago is in the middle of American farm country, which means that meat and potatoes are in high demand. For generations the best steaks have been served at Morton's. Be sure to save room for the exquisite cheesecake. Prefer ribs? Chicagoans will point you to Carson's.

Tru is probably the city's most popular French restaurant. Feel like Italian? You're in luck. The city's enormous Italian population ensures that you can find great pasta and pizza almost anywhere. Spiaggia is one of the top spots. Deep dish pizza was invented in Chicago. You can get it all over the city, but transplanted Chicagoans still order theirs from Gino's East or Lou Malnati's. The Signature Room has great food, but is most impressive for its location. The 95th floor of the John Hancock building offers spectacular views and the staff provides terrific service. No matter where you go in the city, whether downtown or the suburbs, you will find a rich and satisfying collection of restaurants in Chicago.
